The small & lightweight Panasonic SDR-S7 is a good introduction to flash-based camcorders, offering solid features on all fronts but nothing too flashy. It records in standard definition video in either standard 4:3 or widescreen 16:9 format and features a 10x optical zoom lens and Electronic Image Stabilization to extend its shooting range. A handy pre-record function records the first three seconds of video before you actually begin shooting, helping you to catch action on the fly.
